If you want to find out what’s happening or going on, it’s useful to know how to use pasar.
¿Qué pasa afuera?
What’s happening outside?
Aquí nunca pasa nada.
Nothing ever happens here.
You often use pasar when talking about people, with the preposition, a:
A Juan no le ha pasado nada.
Nothing happened to Juan.
