Christopher
masc. proper name, lit. "Christ-bearing." In medieval legend he was a giant (one of the rare virtuous ones) who aided travellers by carrying them across a river. Medallions with his image worn by travellers are known from the Middle Ages (e.g. Chaucer's Yeoman).

Christopher definition
A Christian saint (though no longer listed by the Catholic Church in the Calendar of Saints). Jesus appeared to him as a little child whom Christopher carried across a stream. Christopher means “Christ-bearer.”
Note: Christopher is the patron saint of travelers.
