Gemination is always a great word to know.
So is vowel. Does it mean:
a speech sound produced without occluding, diverting, or obstructing the flow of air from the lungs
an articulated narrowing of the vocal tract that audibly obstructs the flow of air in consonants or defines a connection among resonance cavities in vowels
