Hawksmoor

They were principally built by Gibbs, Hawksmoor, Vanbrugh and others.

Mr. Godwin seems to think Hawksmoor followed Vanbrugh's manner in the heaviness of his design.

At All Souls he pointed out the seldom appreciated merits of Hawksmoor's twin towers.

The same architect is said to have built the two western towers, though they are sometimes ascribed to his pupil Hawksmoor.
