Lupercalia
Roman festival held Feb. 15, in honor of Lupercus, god (identified with Lycean Pan) who had a grotto at the foot of the Palatine Hill, from L. Lupercalia (pl.), from Lupercalis "pertaining to Lupercus," whose name derives from lupus "wolf."
