"I'm the Pig," answered the melter, his red face wrinkling into a grin, which was quickly smoothed out as if the effort hurt him.

"They all have to go through the same experience," was the comforting assurance of the head-melter.

The melter was a small tank through which ran a coil of steam pipes.

"Go on, and look sharp that you don't fall off," warned the head melter.

"You need not go up if you don't feel like it," said the melter.
