Servian

The town owes its name to a ford (Servian brod) of the Save, and dates at least from the 15th century.

At Valievo, the nearest town to the field of battle, large masses of Servian and Austrian wounded kept pouring in incessantly.

Along this single track of iron road the entire transport of the Servian Army is being effected.

Valievo itself is a picturesque little town which in peace time is famous as the centre of the Servian prune trade.

There is hardly a Servian woman who cannot play some musical instrument.
