Stressor is always a great word to know.
So is callithumpian. Does it mean:
a children's mummer's parade, as on the Fourth of July, with prizes for the best costumes.
an extraordinary or unusual thing, person, or event; an exceptional example or instance.
Example sentences
During stress, vagal tone decreases, allowing the heart to speed up and the body to handle the stressor.
If you can't identify and remove the stressor, you may need to seek professional help.
Often the symptoms of this disorder come on rapidly and without an identifiable stressor.
