At present aleurone meal is a side product in starch factories.
Within short, starch will become a side product of aleurone meal.
The deposit consists of aleurone and the active enzymic substance, together with about 80 per cent.
Sucrose also augments in the aleurone layer, but starch is never formed in the aleurone cells.
The cells contain no starch, the reserve food supply being stored cellulose, protein, and aleurone grains.
This parenchymatous mass consists of oval cells filled with fatty matter and granules of aleurone.
Nearest the skin will be seen the triple layer of aleurone cells already referred to (fig. 7).
This pulpy substance, formed entirely of oval cells filled with aleurone, consists of two distinct layers.
