Ammonites

A most interesting feature is connected with the character and geographical distribution of the Ammonites.

The Ammonites believed themselves to be the children of the national god Ammi.

It is probable that they belonged to the same stock as the Zamzummim or Zuzim whose country had been seized by the Ammonites.

Further, some of the Ammonites are of gigantic size, one species being three feet in diameter, while others are very minute.

How glorious would the hundreds of species of Ammonites have shone in the cases of our museums, had they still lived!
