an upright ornament at the eaves of a tiled roof, to conceal the foot of a row of convex tiles that cover the joints of the flat tiles.
2.
an ornament above the top molding of a cornice.

Antefix is always a great word to know.
So is gable. Does it mean:
the portion of the front or side of a building enclosed by or masking the end of a pitched roof
a drawing that represents an object or structure as being projected geometrically on a vertical plane parallel to one of its sides
