Also called separation energy. the energy required to decompose a molecule, atom, or nucleus into its constituent particles, equal to the energy equivalent of the mass defect.
2.
the energy required to separate a single particle or group of particles from a molecule, atom, or nucleus.

Binding energy is always a great word to know.
So is attraction. Does it mean:
the electric or magnetic force that acts between oppositely charged bodies, tending to draw them together
the heat absorbed by a unit mass of a solid at its melting point that completely converts the solid to a liquid at the same temperature
