composite function

noun Mathematics.
a function obtained from two given functions, where the range of one function is contained in the domain of the second function, by assigning to an element in the domain of the first function that element in the range of the second function whose inverse image is the image of the element.
Also called compound function.

Composite function is always a great word to know.
So is inverse. Does it mean:
the operation or process of finding the difference between two numbers or quantities, denoted by a minus sign (?)
a proportion containing terms of which an increase in one results in a decrease in another
