Depauperate is always a great word to know.
So is nucleus. Does it mean:
an organism that is not adapted to prevailing conditions or producing offspring that maintain its contribution of genes to the next generation
a mass of protoplasm found in most cells, directing their growth, metabolism, reproduction, and functioning in the transmission of genic characters
