Greek alphabet

the alphabetic script derived from a Semitic alphabet by way of the Phoenicians, used from about the 8th century b.c. for the writing of Greek, and forming the basis of many other scripts, including Latin and Cyrillic. The letters of the Greek alphabet are: alpha, beta, gamma, delta, epsilon, zeta, eta, theta, iota, kappa, lambda, mu, nu ¹, xi, omicron, pi ¹, rho, sigma, tau, upsilon, phi, chi ¹, psi ¹, omega.
