No. 72 built in 1650 as an Oratorian convent, a maternity hospital under the Empire, now a childrens hospice.

But as he proceeded in his researches he sensibly felt that the business was one above even an oratorian or a monsignore.

He published a number of theological works, and edited the Oratorian Lives of the Saints.

Though the son of a poor joiner, he received a good education in the Oratorian colleges of Tournon and Lyons.

It was an institution celebrated throughout the districts of central France and directed by the Oratorian Fathers.
