Pima cotton

noun (often lowercase)
a variety of fine cotton developed from Egyptian cotton, produced in the southwestern U.S., used chiefly in the manufacture of shirts, ties, etc.
Also called Pima.


Origin:
1935–40, Americanism; after Pima Co., Arizona
