The tribe is practically extinct, but the name survives in the trade language known as “Chinook jargon.”

That made some sort of sense, but I was intrigued by the reference to Interlingua as a trade language.

Thus there is no possibility of the purchaser knowing what is meant unless he be acquainted with trade language.
