pal·mi·tin (pāl'mĭ-tĭn, päl'-, pä'mĭ-) n. The glyceryl ester, C3H5(OOC16H31)3, of palmitic acid, found in palm oil and animal fats and used to manufacture soap. Also called tripalmitin.
