Well, it's hard satisfying a Vermonter when he once breaks loose from his native mountains.

The Vermonter grinned, his mouth forming a wide chasm across the thin face.
Carker listened with a show of interest until the Vermonter had finished.
"If yeou'll jest take me daown to the lake and kick me in, I'll be much obleeged to ye, Barney," said the Vermonter.
"I don't like to have nobody stomp on my co't tail," mumbled the Vermonter.
This roiled the temper of the Vermonter somewhat, and if I did not say anything, I had a mighty think on.
A farmer once hired a Vermonter to assist him in drawing logs.
