white vitriol

Dissolve in the filtrate some white vitriol of the size of a pea.

At the same time use the following injection: Sulphate of zinc (white vitriol), two drams; sugar of lead, two drams.

The blue vitriol is a sulphate of copper, and the white vitriol a sulphate of zinc.

White vitriol six grains dissolved in one ounce of water; a drop or two to be put between the eyelids twice a day.

It is worked up partly into metallic zinc, and partly into the sulphate of zinc, or white vitriol.
