Allen, Woody

  1. A twentieth-century American comic author. Since the late 1960s, he has been directing films and acting in them, usually playing a neurotic, bookish New Yorker ( see New York City ). Some of his best-known films are Annie Hall , Manhattan , and Hannah and Her Sisters .
