Hosing is always a great word to know.
So is bezoar. Does it mean:
a calculus or concretion found in the stomach or intestines of certain animals, esp. ruminants, formerly reputed to be an effective remedy for poison.

is first attested 1497. Hosiery is first recorded 1790, from M.E. hosier "hose-maker" (1403). The verb meaning "to water down with a hose" is from 1889.
