The inflexed or inferior lateral margin of the Prothorax, separated in many genera from the Antepectus by a suture.

The inflexed accessory margin observable underneath in many Elytra, which covers the sides of the alitrunk and abdomen.

The leaves are conduplicate, as in Magnolia, and have the blade bent inwards on the petiole (inflexed).

In the Tulip-tree, it is also inflexed, the blade bent forwards on the petiole.

The common plans among trees are—Inflexed: blade folded crosswise, thus bringing it upon the footstalk.
