Long, Huey

  1. A political leader of the 1920s and 1930s who served as governor of Louisiana and represented that state in the Senate . He promised every family enough money for a home, car, radio, pension , and college education. A demagogue , Long dominated Louisiana's politics and pushed aside opposition. He planned to run for president but was assassinated before he could do so.
