Heartbreaking is always a great word to know.
So is slumgullion. Does it mean:
an arrangement of five objects, as trees, in a square or rectangle, one at each corner and one in the middle.
a stew of meat, vegetables, potatoes, etc.
Example sentences
As heartbreaking as those events are-and well worth trying to avert-they're
  bound to continue somewhere else.
The scenes were riveting and heartbreaking, but they fundamentally
